I figured out that there are
290 calories per 6serving or 217 calories per 8 servings. (Please note that the calorie counts vary
depending on the specific brands of ingredients that you choose to use.)
This was such an easy recipe
and the cornbread came out golden. I will be using this cornbread in the
following days for Ree’s dressing recipes. I did have a bite and enjoyed it. I
am interested how it tastes in a dressing recipe as this is a new one for me. I
made the Basic Thanksgiving Dressing on Sunday night. Wait for that yummy
recipe tomorrow.
Gabbin’ About Gratitude
I
am thankful that Megan Mkrtchjan introduced me to Ree Drummond, the Pioneer
Woman. I really enjoy cooking and baking using Ree’s recipes. I love her style
of cooking and really enjoy eating her food. She has given me the tools I need
to become a good recipe-following cook. Thanks so much, Ree!
Memory Musings
My
nieces and nephews are the light of my life, but there are also three other
special “honorary niece and nephews,” that mean the world to me. My best
friend, Donna Dowd, has three special children who are like family to me. I was
blessed to have been the fifth grade teacher for all three of them.
Patrick
is the oldest son and is a trained professional chef. Pat is outgoing and fun
to be around. He is also a great Euchre player, and has a wicked sense of
humor.
James
is Donna’s second son. He is quiet and soft-spoken. When James speaks, it is
important. He has a quick wit and is actually the person who named this blog –
even though his sister tried to take the credit. What would I have done without
you, James.
Meghann
is the girl of the family. She is such a love and is friendly and outgoing.
Meghann looks for the best in everyone. She always makes me feel so special and
loved.
These
three kids, oops – they are now grown-ups, bring great joy to my life. Thanks
Donna and Bill for raising three amazing adults.
