Week 43 Saturday (11/8/14)

Recipe Review
Today’s Recipe and Location:           Broccoli-Wild Rice Casserole

Found in: The Pioneer Woman Cooks: A Year of Holidays
Pages:  275-277      Copyright:  2013  Harper Collins  OR

It’s unfortunate that I don’t eat broccoli, but I have never liked the taste of it. It just tastes so GREEN! I do like the wild rice part of the casserole. Ree uses the really dark brown or black wild rice. This dish looks so good. Try this recipe if you are looking for a new side dish on Thanksgiving.

Random Reflections

The weather is turning quickly, and I found these pictures from last winter. We changed the clocks last night, and it will become dark earlier, which made me realize that winter is almost here. As I looked through the photos, I began hoping that this winter will be a little bit milder than the last. Either way, we will deal with what comes to us all.

Little Sage is too cute when she is covered in snow

I love the spot of snow on Willow's nose

They are in pretty deep!

Helpful Home Hints

Now is the time to make sure your furnace is ready for the long, cold winter ahead.  I will be calling Good Call Plumbing to make sure that my furnace is up to par. I do the monthly maintenance myself, but I feel better when I have the experts come prior to the first major snow to insure that life will be cozy and warm in December.
