Week 39 Wednesday (10/8/14)

Recipe Review

Today’s Recipe and Location:           Mini Blueberry Galettes
Found in: The Pioneer Woman blog

I really wanted to make these galettes, but I couldn’t think of anything that I could substitute for blueberries. They did worry me a little bit because they are constructed like the apple pie that I made a giant mess of when I made it. Hopefully, you will be successful when you create this recipe.

Gabbin’ About Gratitude

We are so lucky that we live in a powerful country that has the armed forces protecting us. I truly believe that we need to do more to thank those who have put their lives on the line for all of us. We also need to do more when they return to insure that they are capable of returning to everyday life. Wars change their lives, and we are not supporting them as we should.

Memory Musings

I was watching T.V. the other night and there was a show about building amazing tree houses. The man on the show was a designer of these tree homes.
Now, we never had any visions of grandeur, because they were good old homemade tree forts. The purpose was to fill a day or week building the thing and then just hang out there. I personally, never build one, but the Stopka brothers were experts. Every self-respecting tree house has individual steps made of boards. They are usually hammered into the tree with two nails. The forts usually more like a platform but every once in a while they had a wall or two.

Do kids even do this anymore?
