Week 39 Friday (10/10/14)

Recipe Review       Location:           Browned Butter M & M Cookies
Found in: The Pioneer Woman blog

I figured out that there are 178 calories per serving, if 36 servings are made. (Please note that the calorie counts vary depending on the specific brands of ingredients that you choose to use.)

These cookies are so delicious and filled with M & M's

This recipe made a lot of cookies!

This recipe is exactly like the chocolate chunk recipe with the exception of the substitution of M & Ms for the chocolate chips. I added the correct amount of flour and the texture of these cookies was spot on. Between the two cookies, I loved the M & M ones the best. Could it be because candy is wonderful???
Who knows?

Fabulous “Family and Friends” Food

This is such an old recipe from 1973 when I was a High School Junior. I took a Home Economics and this was one of the recipes we made.

High School Snickerdoodles

Ingredients:
½ cup butter
½ cup shortening
1.5 cups granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 + ¾ cups of flour
2 teasp. cream of tartar
1 teasp. baking soda
¼ teasp. salt
2 Tblsp. sugar
2 teasp. cinnamon

Directions:
Heat oven to 400 degrees.  Mix thoroughly butter, shortening, 1.5 cups of granulated sugar and the eggs. Blend in the flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Shape dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls.
Mix 2 Tablespoons sugar and cinnamon. Roll the dough balls in the cinnamon mixture. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.  Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set.  Immediately remove from baking sheet. Makes 6 dozen cookies.
