I figured out that there are 184
calories per serving, if 12 servings are made or 123 calories if 18 cookies are
made. (Please note
that the calorie counts vary depending on the specific brands of ingredients
that you choose to use.)
These were very
interesting cookies. I have to say
I shook my head a lot trying to figure them out. They tasted good, but they
weren’t sweet like I expected them to me. Jenny thought the same thing I did,
and then Amy Geyer came up with the ultimate solution: take two of them and put
ice cream between them. Martha suggested mint chocolate chip. That makes these the perfect ice cream
sandwich cookie. They have the consistency of a gingerbread cookie, but are
chocolate. They could stand up to
the weight of the ice cream. Way
to go group! Now, I can’t wait to make them again.

Random Reflections
I am really enjoying reading
the Rebecca Caudill nominees for the 2016 year. These (20) books are selected by children, for children in grades four through eight. I am on book #6 and
really like them all so far. I can’t wait to finish all of the them before I
retire.
Irksome Ideas and Images
After
school today, I went to have my Mammogram. As I sat in the doctor’s office a
man’s phone went off. He was actually working with the receptionist and walked
away to take his call. She looked amazed at his rudeness. I know it is important to have a phone,
but are we really so delusional that we are so self-absorbed and self-important
that we can’t be courteous to others.
I overheard him talking to his wife about what to pick up at the grocery
store. The poor receptionist should have continued with another patron and let
the rude man wait, but the others had to wait because she didn’t have the wherewithal
to move on to the next person.
When I see this happen, it totally reaffirms my desire to NOT purchase a
phone. I am just not that important, and I do not want to be available 24/7.
