Week 53 Tuesday (1/13/15)

Recipe Review
Today’s Recipe and Location:           Chocolate Candy Cane Cookies
Found in: The Pioneer Woman Cooks: A Year of Holidays

I figured out that there are 133 calories per serving, if 32 servings are made. (Please note that the calorie counts vary depending on the specific brands of ingredients that you choose to use.)

These were so darn tasty

They are also pretty to serve

Of all of the desserts that I made so far this week, I loved these cookies. I didn’t think I would like them because as much as I like sucking on mint candies – I didn’t think I would like them ground on a cookie. These are absolutely magnificent!  This is something I will make sure that I will make these repeatedly during the year. They are the best!

Craft Corner

On Black Friday, I already shared that I had a shopping spree at Jo-Anne’s Fabrics and Michaels.  Here are some photos of the fabulous flannel fabrics I purchased on that day.

I love every one of these fabrics, and
I purchased several yards of each one.

These are called "fat quarters"

Basically, it is a quarter of a yard of fabric

I use these when I am making
individual quilt squares

I had so much fun picking out the fabrics

My Gorgeous Girls

On Saturday the fourth, I received a call from Dr. K at Sandwich Veterinary Hospital about Willow’s health. I wanted to make sure we checked her new blood work from yesterday and had a future plan. She is an outstanding vet and I totally trust her. Willow’s blood work came back with only one minor little issue, and she suggested that we begin to wean Willow off of one of her drugs that she takes every day. Willow is currently on Prednisolone and Azathiprine. We are going to reduce the Prednisolone to once every other day, and in a month, check her blood again to see if it stays okay after we reduce her dosage. As long as she is healthy and happy, then I am one heck of a satisfied client.
