Week 48 Wednesday (12/10/14)

Recipe Review
Today’s Recipe and Location:           Cinnamon Raisin Baked French Toast
Found in: The Pioneer Woman blog

I have enjoyed many of Ree’s breakfasts and this one sounds spectacular. This looks like a great recipe to have on Christmas morning. I also recommend her Croissant French Toast, which was so decadent. I just love breakfast foods and Ree is an expert. The only reason I didn’t make this dish is because I absolutely hate the texture of raisins. Do something special this year and try this dish.

Gabbin’ About Gratitude

I am so grateful for my parents and the way I was raised. I grew up in a loving family and never had to worry about where our next meal would come from. We took family vacations that were wonderful and never wanted for anything. A big thank you to my parents who raised me with strong morals, a positive work ethic, and the ability to live self-sufficiently.

Memory Musings

I’m writing this on Saturday night at 7 p.m. As I was flipping through the channels, I came across “It’s a Wonderful Life” on NBC. A wonderful and yet sad memory came to mind. My Dad loved a good joke. During the holiday season, my Dad would call me and say, “Oh my gosh, hurry and turn to channel whatever.” I knew what it was, but it was something he did because he knew that I thought that they overplayed this movie. He would always tell me that he knew I wouldn’t want to miss it, and I would laugh.
What I wouldn’t give to have received his phone call tonight. Oh Dad, there are so many memories and through these tears I am going to watch this movie and think of you.
