Week 28 Thursday (7/24/14)

Recipe Review

Today’s Recipe and Location:           Mocha Brownies
Found in: The Pioneer Woman blog

I wished I liked the taste of coffee or mocha. These brownies are so fluffy and beautiful that I just want to reach in and taste the blasted thing. I so love chocolate, but mocha is not a fav. So for all of you coffee lovers – here is the perfect dessert for you.

Random Reflections - The Glorious Garden

Around the pond I have a few different grasses. One of my favorites is prairie dropseed sporobolas heterokasis. It reminds me of my hair in the 70’s when we had a fountain ponytail on the top of our head and the hair would cascade down. Now that, is a strange connection, but it is the best I could do at this time.

I love this soft grass

The grass is by the pond in the back
right, against the house as well as in the front left.

I have it planted in the front yard in full sun. The tag says that we should plant it in full sun (which I do). The soil does not have to be great rich dirt because you can even plant this one in sand. The soil should be on the dry side and definitely not wet. The birds in my neighborhood love this grass. I spaced mine about 1.5 feet apart, which was probably too close. My grasses are still small, but can grow from two to four feet. I love these soft looking grasses around the pond. They are a nice touch to my yard.

Irksome Ideas and Images

I was washing clothes the other day and had a meltdown. I left a Kleenex in a dress pocket. What a mess in the washer and on the other clothes. Why didn’t I check the pockets? Was I in a hurry?  What I a space cadet? Why oh why?  Oh well, I had to get over myself and clean up the mess.
