These are
wonderful sugar cookies with a smooth frosting. Of course, I had to taste test
one with and without the frosting. Surprise, Surprise – I liked the frosted one
better. These would be great cookies for any event. Sugar cookies are liked by
most people so they will always be accepted with a smile. I've decided to take 14 of them to Curves so they can try out a Ree recipe. I already blew my calories count today so I need these beauties out of this house. Yikes!
Fabulous “Family and Friends” Food
Yummy Apple Bread

Ingredients:
¾ c. brown sugar,
firmly packed
½ c. butter
2 eggs, slightly
beaten
1 c. cooking
apples, chopped
2 c. flour
2 teasp. baking
powder
1/2 teasp. salt
½ teasp. cinnamon
¼ teasp. nutmeg
¾ c. chopped nuts
Directions:
Cream
together sugar and shortening. Beat in both eggs. Now, stir in the chopped
apples. Mix it thoroughly. Set
aside. Now, stir together the dry ingredients. When you finish that, stir in
the chopped nuts. Combine the dry and creamed mixtures. Mix together
thoroughly. Pour into a greased loaf pan. Bake in a 350 degree over for 45
minutes, or until done. This can be kept for several days.
