What the Beck???

It's winter clean-up time

Now that the temperatures are dropping,
my hostas as dying.

It looks much better after cleanup

Many of the plants have a long way to go
before I can cut them back. The spring plants
need the "green" nourishments, so I have to
be patient and wait.

I re-edge the beds in the fall, so they
are easier to deal with in the spring.
Sage loves to get in on the action.

This bed was bitten by frost and clean-up was a breeze!

Another major task in the fall is to have the fence
inspected and repaired. Doing it in the fall allows
the boards to age to gray by next summer, so they don't
stand out so much!

Here is my next section to tackle.
This one will take awhile.
Thank God 70's are expected next week.

This wonderful tree has grown so much this summer
that the limbs that go over the pond and sidewalk must be
cut off of the tree.  Thornapple Landscapers have been
hired to prune the tree and cut off the limb that will decapitate
any winter visitors.  Have you trimmed your trees yet?
