Week 35 Wednesday (9/10/14)

Recipe Review
Today’s Recipe and Location:           Spicy Pulled Pork
Found in: The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Recipes from an Accidental Country Girl    Pages: 94 - 95       Copyright:  2009  Harper Collins

I figured out that there are 373 calories per serving, if 8 servings are made. (Please note that the calorie counts vary depending on the specific brands of ingredients that you choose to use.)

This is the pork shoulder with
the marinade all around it

These are the huge chunks of meat that fell apart
as soon as I took it out of the pan.

This is the meat after I pulled the pork apart
with forks and placed it back into the juices.

Here are my little individual servings
of the pork. Yum! Yum!

This may now be my favorite Ree recipe. I love this pulled pork even more than I did her other recipe. This one is so filled with flavor. I can’t wait to have this for lunch on Monday. I am even bringing a second one in for everyone to taste. I know this will be a huge hit. I really think everyone should try this recipe.

Gabbin’ About Gratitude

I am so thankful that I always wake up happy. I wake up before the sunrise and actually jump out of bed ready to begin my day. I know so many people who can sleep in. I was always jealous of them, because I do not sleep many hours. But it must not be harmful to me, because I have a lot of energy and accomplish a great deal in the day. Happiness is a choice, and I choose to wake up with a smile.

Memory Musings

Living in St. Pete was a good experience. I think the average age in St. Petersburg, in the winter, was 80 years old.  It was a little frustrating because in those days they drove extremely slowly, which frustrated this 20 year old. I think that it is pretty sad that my strongest memory is of trying to hurry to the boat and getting behind a slow driver or six. The memory is a funny thing.
