I figured out that there are
303 calories, if 8 servings are
made. (Please note that the calorie counts vary depending on the
specific brands of ingredients that you choose to use.)
I
really enjoyed this dish, however it was VERY salty because I didn’t use the
right soy sauce. It is important
to use low sodium soy sauce (like the recipe states). I have never ordered this dish in a restaurant, but if it is
anything like Ree’s, then it is worth the attempt. Thanks Ree, for another great recipe!
I began with the wrong soy sauce
in went the vinegar
and the brown sugar
and the oyster sauce (this was a first for me)
What the heck is oyster sauce?
Who knows, but I added it to the mix.

and finally the sesame oil.
I cut up the chicken thighs, and cooked
them in a skillet in vegetable oil
I added in the garlic, fresh ginger, and green bell pepper
Then, I added in the sherry, cornstarch,
water chestnuts and cashews.
This is the final product.
Ree served hers in pasta or rice.
I only had pasta handy, so in the pot in went.
This was my fabulous dinner!!!
Isn't it pretty???
I just love using this darn cute plate!
