I figured out that there are
104 calories, if 10 servings are
made. (Please note that the calorie counts vary depending on the
specific brands of ingredients that you choose to use.)
This is a really good Caesar
Salad dressing and it was a snap to make.
Bucket List Update
1951
A Place in the Sun
starring: Elizabeth Taylor, Montgomery
Clift, and Shelley Winters
plot
– A rich uncle gives his poor nephew a job. The boy falls in love
with a rich girl, but impregnates a factory worker.
This movie definitely kept my attention. The
boy was so focused on the
wealthy girl who was out of his reach that he also dates a factory
worker. This movie was well done.
1958 Auntie Mame
starring: Rosalind Russell, Forrest Tucker
plot
– an orphan boy is sent to live with his eccentric aunt
I liked the movie. Rosalind Russell was
great in the lead role and the
boy was wonderful. Thank Heavens I don’t have an Auntie Mame in my life. She
would exhaust the heck out of me.
1960 The Sundowners
starring: Robert Mitchum and Deborah Kerr
plot
– This movie takes place in Australia in 1920. The father is a sheepherder,
so the family moves around a lot. The family desperately
wants to settle down.
I loved this movie. The lifestyle that they
were living is something that
I could never handle. I love being a home owner. I can’t imagine
constantly being on the move.
1961
Fanny
starring: Leslie Caron, Charles Boyer,
Maurice Chevalier, and Horst Bucholz
plot
– This is the story of a woman who loves two men, one old and the
other young. She gets pregnant with the young man who has
sailed away and doesn’t know of the baby. The older man is
happy to raise the boy. Then the young man returns…
I was surprised how much I liked this movie.
The story was great and
Leslie Caron was superb. A great movie.
1962
The Hustler
starring: Paul Newman and Jackie Gleason
plot
– Jackie Gleason is Minnesota Fats to Newman’s Fast Eddie Felson.
Newman strives to beat Fats and ends up living a difficult
life with a girlfriend traveling the pool circuit.
I had heard of the pool sharks before, but
this felt like a history lesson
about pool players. Newman and Gleason were fabulous and I really
loved this classic.
This
year’s garden
The gardens have been wonderful and lush this year due to all of the rain we had in the spring. Here is what I have enjoyed this summer.
My herbs are fabulous! |
I love the color blue in a garden |
The hosta garden is huge! |
Look at the path the rain has made through my new mulch! Annoying! |
I see a few thistle weeds creeping into my beautiful flower beds. |
I loooooove yard art! Here is a new piece. |
My bird baths had to be emptied daily to avoid the mosquitoes |
This Jackmandi is amazing |
A few more new pieces. These really catch the sunlight |
The grasses are really bushy |
A close-up of the Jackmandi |
