What the Beck???

Recipe Review
Today’s Recipe and Location: Three Meat Lasagna
Found in: The Pioneer Woman Cooks: A Year of Holidays
Pages 184 - 186:    Copyright:  2013 Harper Collins

I figured out that there are 731 calories,  if 18 servings are made. (Please note that the calorie counts vary depending on the specific brands of ingredients that you choose to use.)

This is by far the best lasagna I have ever eaten. It made so much that I gave a pan to my niece, Maddie, another to my Mom, and I kept one to divide into smaller dishes.  It is high in calories, but worth every single bite!  This recipe is so great that it is worth buying the entire book for just this recipe. Have you bought this book yet?  WHY NOT???  Her new book is coming out in the fall and you should have purchased the first three already.

Madonna, this would be a good recipe when the boys all come home!

There are a lot of ingredients in this one!
I can't wait to make it again.

Here are the three meats after browning
Is it my eyes or are beginning to get blurry?

Add the tomato paste and diced tomatoes

There is nothing like fresh spices to add a lot of flavor

Now for the cheeses.
We began with a lot of ricotta and some eggs.

More fresh herbs

Mix them well

Large, no giant, no enormous, slices of mozzarella

Then the stacking began
Here is one of the 8 x 8 pans.
Remember that it made 2 of these and 1 loaf pan
Yeah!

The final step was to add the Parmesan and bake

Bucket List Update

1966  The Sand Pebbles
starring: Steve McQueen and Richard Attenborough
plot – In the late 1920’s McQueen plays a navy engineer who is sent                   to work on a gunboat in China named the Sand Pebble.
I liked this movie. As usual, McQueen is a great actor. His portrayal
of the engineer, was believable.  A really good movie!
1976  Bound for Glory
starring: David Carradine and Melinda Dillon
plot – Story of the early years of Woody Guthrie.
This was interesting to me because I had heard of Woody Guthrie          but knew little to nothing about his life. I can’t imagine traveling like          a hobo and jumping on and off freight trains. Good educational          movie for me.
1977  Annie Hall
starring:  Woody Allen and Diane Keaton
plot – Woody Allen plays a comedian who has difficulty with a                            relationship with a singer (Diane Keaton).
I hated it!  I’ve never liked any Woody Allen movie and this one did          nothing for me either. Sad,but true.
1986  Hannah and her Sisters
starring: Woody Allen, Mia Farrow, Barbara Hershey, Michael Caine,                            Carrie Fisher, Lloyd Nolan, and Maureen O’Sullivan
plot – This is the story of a really crazy family.
What can I say – another horrible Woody Allen movie. .Hated it!

Dogs in the garden

A sweet Sage

A pensive Willow

Hello, my sweet girl

I found a little hidden surprise in the garden

She knows she isn't supposed to dig in the beds

She looked so darn cute that I couldn't be angry at her.
