Week 64 Thursday (4/2/15)

Recipe Review

Today’s Recipe and Location:           Dulce De Leche Brownies
Found in: The Pioneer Woman Cooks: A Year of Holidays
                  Pages:  156 - 158    Copyright:  2013  Harper Collins

I figured out that there are 350 calories per serving, if 16 servings are made. (Please note that the calorie counts vary depending on the specific brands of ingredients that you choose to use.)

These are the richest brownies!  I needed a glass of milk with mine. Although, I prefer milk to drink with all chocolate or rich food. I have never used the La Lechera Dulce de Leche caramel mix before. It comes in a can similar to Eagle Brand Milk but it is keep in the Ethnic Aisle of Walmart.  Make these are your family will be extremely happy.

First, I melted the chocolate

Next, I used my wonderful mixer
to cream the sugar and butter

Now, add the flour and vanilla

Add the piece de resistance
(Is that how it is spelled???)

Smooth the batter

Cut the caramel La Lechera into the batter

The final product - pull up a chair and a fork,
and let's eat!
Pass the milk, please.

Random Reflections

When I was in Aurora last week I passed the house where we bought our grand piano. I wrote about my Dad refinishing the piano with love, so seeing that home brought back a wonderful memory.  Isn’t this cool house? I can’t imagine living in a round house.  How do you arrange the furniture??

Irksome Ideas and Images

I was always a nail biter. About five years ago, I decided to stop biting my nails. I love having long finger nails now. I do absolutely hate it when a nail breaks and it’s so low it bleeds. This makes for a painful nail for a few days. Oh well – this is just another annoying thing we all have to deal with in our lives.
