Recipe Review

Today’s Recipe and Location:  Cinnamon Crisps

I figured out that there are 87 calories per serving, if 16 servings are made. (Please note that the calorie counts vary depending on the specific brands of ingredients that you choose to use.)

These were interesting to me.  I have to say that using them to scoop out bites of ice cream made them even better.  I have now had them with many types of ice cream and the cinnamon really adds a special flavor to this dessert addition.  They are crunchy and just plain old fun!  Nicole and Brandy had some good suggestions.

Today’s critics:

Brandy:  Cinnamon triangles and ice cream - Good, different, I like them though, would be fun for a party.

The Serpicos:  They were okay to dip in the ice cream but they didn’t do anything else for us.  I probably would not make them again.  Not that they were bad, but they weren’t exceptional.  Suggestion:  They would look good served as a garnish for ice cream or just smashing them up and adding a crunch to a bowl of ice cream.

Random Reflections

Today I must comment on how people share their creativity while driving down the highway.  I love to read all of the vanity license plates on the road. Some are funny and some identify the driver(s) such as initials. People are amazing with how they can create a plate that has inventive spelling but is somehow easy to figure out. In one trip to school I read about four great license plates – too bad I left my notebook at home or I would have jotted some of them down.
I also love magnetic stickers. These have taken the place of the old horrible bumper stickers. Bumper stickers were a killer on a car’s paint job but the magnets are wonderful.  They are easy to get on as well as off. These stickers are not as creative but help everyone know things, like your political party, religion, and organizations that you are affiliated with in life.  I am guilty of having these little gems. I strongly support the Humane Society of the United States and proudly display paw prints and the “I love animals” ribbons.

Helpful Home Hints

Cleaning the house can be a real chore but I have two proven methods to make it less stressful and actually a fun endeavor.
My first method is to watch a TV show and jump up and clean in the commercials.  Now this is a little unorthodox.  During commercial one, I can get both the dining and living rooms dusted. The next commercial I can usually get the dining room vacuumed (fighting Sage the entire time as the vacuum cleaner is her arch enemy!) The next commercial is vacuuming the living room and then putting everything back that I have moved around, and so on and so forth.  I get to watch the evening shows I love AND have a clean house when they are over.  It may sound nutty but then I have NO GUILT for relaxing and watching the tube.  Think about trying it – what do you really have to lose…except a little dust!
The other cleaning method involves classical music. For some reason, cleaning to the beat and rhythm of this music is silly and fun.  Dusting is my fav as you can’t help but smile at Beethoven’s Fifth as you swipe that dust off the table. It’s my second choice because I use this method when there isn’t a blasted thing to watch on television. So if you are bored and need a change or if you just want to free up a weekend, try a little unorthodox cleaning method.
